PlayStation 3 stand as one of the top gaming console today.The new machine looks glossy with futuristic look on it ,This is the most powerful machine to be around.PlayStation 3 was officially launched on  17th of November 2006 across North America with a hard disk space varies from 20 GB – 160 GB , some of the features includes – USB ports for all your external devices like memory card and flash drives, Third party OS installation like Linux,blue ray player witch replaces the traditional DVD player,Which means user can now get to watch high def movies in their very own console,memory card readers flash disk readers,built in Wi-fi connectivity,  wireless controllers, and ps2 emulators is inbuilt which is something what gamers expected to be.PlayStation 3 was released  all over India on  27th of  April 2007,Since then Sony always made couple of changes to the console every year till they found a perfect blend of gaming pleasure and multimedia experience in their product.

Sony PlayStation 3 – Slim

When PlayStation 2  was launched few years back Sony came up with the slim version after four years of the original release,And the slim version proved to be quite a good deal and sold more.Similarly Sony have released PlayStation 3 Slim on 1st of September 2009 (Three years after the original release)which has lota changes compared with the Fat console  .Today’s games are likely to be consume more processor memory than usual with high def resolution and picture perfect details to the environment .This doesn’t affect the performance of the Slim,it works like a charm.

Whats New

As mentioned it has quite a bit of change to the entire console. The whole thing is slimmer than usual it comes with three different colors (Charcoal Black,White and Pink ) ,It doesn’t match the features of the Fat edition but still have the essential ones like Wi-Fi connectivity ,USB supportability (usb 2.0)  ,memory card readers,and free online gaming ( which is absolutely fabulous).connecting PSP is also possible.The hard drives in the Slim are easily upgradable , Also power adapters are bulit-in so that it wont be messy with all those wires around.Their are wide range of games with some exclusives like Gran Turismo 5,God of War III and much more .

Compromise

The reduction of the price means they have to compromise few things like theirs no more glossy look (Like the one in PS3 Fat version). The power button is changed back to the traditional one unlike in PS3 fat it was a touch screen , Third party OS installation is no more in the slim console.One of the main drawback of the slim version is backward comparability is not possible which mean all your PlayStation and PlayStation 2 disk cant be played in the slim .But still the slim version is lot more lighter and slimmer and also consumes less power than the previous one.It is also the less noisier (processor fan sound) than the fat version.Most of all its the cheapest.

PS3 slim is rummer to be launched in the end of this month but probably will be launched early next month  with a price tag to be expected around 19,999 INR .

Sony PSP GO was launched this month and compared with the earlier edition it looks good feels good and could even sell good, the new PSP GO has a slide out control which makes the entire console stylish and even more portable than its predecessor, the whole thing is much more thinner, sleeker and compact.

It is also lighter compared with PSP 3000 but something has been compromised to get a performance and in this case the screen size has being slightly reduced.

PSP go supports Bluetooth connectivity which can also be used as a headset for making calls via Skype which is already inbuilt. The Bluetooth compatibility is one of the newest feature which is introduced for the PSP family .

Drawback of PSP GO

The Drawback of PSP GO console is that the traditional UMD drive is not available for the new console. Yeah Sony did not want to continue with the inclusion of UMD drives in their new portable gaming machine .this is a disappointment for the owners of the older versions of PSP’s as the UMD disks which they own has no use anymore for the new PSP GO.

Because there is no UMD driver, games in PSP GO can only be storage in a 16 GB flash drive and on a M2 memory stick. That means users cannot buy a regular video game from any gamming stores but to buy them online from the Sony PlayStation website. This is a major problem for the Sony as the download speed must be faster than usual, obviously the net traffic would increase because thousands of users might be online buying games 24X7.

PlayStation has informed that they would add more games and video content for buying in the next few months exclusively for PSP GO users.

The good news is PSP 3000 will be still manufactured if you want to still use the UMD disks console. But all the content for the PSP GO is digital and can only be downloaded or transferred VIA USB connectivity Whatever it might be from games to movies and TV programs. And the USB connectivity cable for connecting the PSP to a PC has been changed so that the user cannot use a regular USB cable to transfer data.

Sense Me Feature

There is no big change in the display of the new gaming device nor there no change in the graphical performance of the games itself. Everything is the same about the new PSP GO when compared with its predecessor apart from the slide out control and the new Bluetooth capabilities the PSP music features has also be changed it has a new auto play feature called “sense me” .The release of the gaming device comes at right time when the holiday season is couple months away. But it has to be said that the newer UMD less console might take time to get used to it.
