Trackers in torrents are those who co-ordinate the communication amongst the peers. This tutorial will teach you how to remove trackers from torrent clients. Each torrent that you download will contain a set of trackers in their directory.
The work of the tracker is to establish connection between you and the other peers on the network. Some have an opinion that more the trackers, more will be download speed, but in many cases, most of the trackers are slow responding or dead ones. Removing such trackers from the list and keeping only the active and efficient trackers and increase you torrent download speed by a large value.
How to Remove Trackers from uTorrent
- Select the particular torrent whose trackers you want to remove.
- In the Detailed info panel, select Trackers. (Press F5 if you don’t see the detailed info panel)
- You will see the list of trackers there, along with the Seeds & Peers in each tracker.
- Select the low performing trackers ( less seeders, lower download rate)
- Right click on the selected tracker and click on Remove Tracker.
