VPC EA16 Review
When I write this review, I would like to benchmark this laptop with its predecessor Sony Vaio VPC EB 16. Both these laptops have almost the same configuration, however the new EA16 model price is quite more when compared to EB16.
Operating System
EA 16 is pre loaded with Windows 7 64bit Premium Edition, which is now the best in business considering Windows. Windows 7 has been the master of all Windows Operating system as of now. Operating System Rating: 5/5
Processor
The Core i5 Processor is quite an advantage for this laptop model. With Turbo boost upto 2.93 Ghz, EA16 can deliver the best it can for the price you pay. Processor Rating: 5/5
Memory
VPC EA16 is packed with 4 Gb DDR3 SDRAM, which is the usual memory size for present age laptops. However I feel that they should have given facility like in Dell laptops to extend the RAM upto 8 GB. Memory Rating: 4/5
Graphics & Display
As mentioned earlier this laptop is built for a 14″ WXGA Display with a splendid 1366 x 768 resolution. Sony has retained the same graphics card that was used in the earlier models – ATI Radeon HD 5650 with 1 Gb. The looks are not bad, but the color availability is somewhat a concern, guess what there are only two available colors in this model – Black and Green. ( May be Sony is joining the Green Revolution – not by using Eco friendly hardware but by using Green Color
) Jokes apart, Graphics Rating: 4/5
Sony EA16 Price in India: Rs.57,990

As the publisher rightly said, colour option is going to be a big concern… But as the saying goes, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder…
One strong point of EA16 over EB16 is the powerful Core i5-520 processor. Yet another blessing in disguise is the relatively low resolution display. With this, the GPU would be more efficient in gaming. Its got more storage space and the 14′ screen produces sharper image for the given resolution because of better pixel array (DPI).
All in all, its a good lap for the price (a bit costlier than a similarly configured Dell Studio 14 save the inferior HD 5470 GPU).
Please do correct my mistakes.
Thank you.
