Facebook Naming Restriction

Here are some of the screenshots captured displaying the naming restriction in Facebook. Though these restrictions were not there, previous year, Facebook has made its system strict against Spammers.

Rule #1: No two capital letters allowed in a word

Rule #2: No repetitive characters allowed

Rule #3: No Silly names, lol!!

    Looks like I should get my 110 granny to sue Facebook for restricting her to join it! :P

      lol, Facebook already sued a lot by others. for fake celebrity profiles, and again our 110 yr old grandma shud sue, no dude., Poor Facebook.,

      I know a woman called Nichole Kidmann and facebook won’t let her have an account because she shares a name with a celebrity.

      Ya thats right, it was because Facebook was sued by some celebrity for someone else having a fake account on their name.

      Ya ., But that shud start something like this, every account shud be related to a mobile phone. get confirmation from phone., else each person can create how many ever IDs he wants to. I myself have 3 profiles., one personal another for blogging and the other for Mafia wars.(BTW i stopped playing mafia wars now, waste of time lol)

      Thanks Yogesh :) . I tried to create an account and it rejected,. so thought of sharing the various ways in which , registration can be rejected in facebook.lol.

    lol, so many restrictions, i wonder how they make restrictions on names, its up to the user to keep whatever name he likes…

      Facebook is becoming very strict these days. Not just in registering name., even after registration, they put captcha while adding friends.!!

    FB wants to make sure the person and contact info is “real,” because the founder, Zuckerberg, is an anti-privacy advocate. In fact, what privacy controls are in place, are only there because the majority of users wanted them. So although this piece was a nice exercise in due diligencing, the fact remains that FB is an outstanding way to publish your entire life on the Internet for all to see with very little restrictions as to who may see it.     all these restrictions seems funny.. Some of them were weird and looks irritating too…

    Oh wow! That’s really interesting, I didn’t know that facebook was doing that, but I guess with all the spammers out there, it is an important system.

    Seriously? Do you really get through all the steps for signing up or you just proving your point? :-) Well either way, I applaud your effort. There are some that I didn’t even come across before, wow.. I hope you managed to sign up in the end.

      lol. I failed in the first two attempts,which i thought was correct data, the third time It was approved, but i wanted to experiment the different ways they can reject. Thats how got the list. :) After all possible combinations, I created an account :)
