“Which is the best Alternative to adsense ?” – The very common answer I used to get is Adbrite. As I have mentioned in one of my post, I have been rejected by Adsense several times. So i had to settle with some othadvertising company for the time being and I choose Adbrite. I have tried various other advertising networks and came across horrible experience amongst these network.
Adbrite: I have been using this for a long period and trust me, this is useless. I have put four ad slots of Adbrite in my website(3 alone in the sidebar). Everday I used to get about 800 ~ 1000 impressions on the sidebar ads. And the worst case they paid a CPM of 22 cents. And most of the time, there wont be any ads in the slot, you could see “Advertise here” link, which is again disgusting. Finally Yesterday I decided to stop using their service. I’m not sad that im going to lose the money I heard till now with adbrite(I dint reach the minimum payment amount) but I’m indeed happy that I now saved 10 kiloByte(useless) from my website
.
Advertise Space: None of my ad-slots were sold. This network accepts only very few publishers, two of my friends were rejected for an account in this network. Earlier I was happy to have been accepted but later I wondered why I choose this network. Even a single ad-slot of my is not filled as yet. Today I got a letter from the CEO thanking for using AdvertiseSpce till now. He also mentioned that they have added some 20 new styles of “Advertise Here” banner that is displayed when your slots are not sold. WTH!! Why cant the company get some news ads rather than adding 20 styles to the Advertise Here banner.
BidVertiser: Another popular alternative of adsense, the best part I once got paid 50 cent for a click, the worst part , never expect such high CPC again
. The reason I stopped using Bidvertiser is that they ignore many clicks. Even if i would have got some 30+clicks a day, they showed only 2 clicks with CPC 3 cent. Seriously what the heck is this,. They dont provide CPM too,. only CPC ads and they count all the clicks. This is worse….
Burst Media: Another company which promises a higher CPM and CPC rate but finally gives you 2 cents for a thousand impression and 5 cent for a click. Another thing to note about BurstMedia is that they have a set of default ads, which will be displayed in the site, incase there are no-ads, these defaults are mostly surveys, they are non-paid ads. My experience was that, incase you get 100 ad impressions from Burst Media only 5 of them will be paid ad. With a 1000 page views in my site, I only got 5 cents that day. My advice dont even register an account with these people.
Chitika: I don’t have any personal experience with Chitika. The below comment is purely based on the experience of one of my friend and fellow blogger. The I reason I dint register an account with Chitika was that, one of my friend and fellow blogger, said Chitika pays for visits only from Search engine, being a startup blog Im just getting around 20~30 visits from Serach engine per day. So mathematically Speaking the probability of me earning more than a dollar per day with chitika is a big ZERO…
So guys, these are the worst of the experiences I had on advertising networks. Right now, I’m more settled with just using Infolinks, as it pays me better than the other banner and text ads. I have also added BuySellAds, but I think it demands a better number of impressions. Technorati Media has just approved me for their account. I have added an ad in the sidebar, lets see how it works, will update this post soon, describing my experience with other networks. Incase if you have any such experience, do share your valuable experience with us ![]()

I am currently using Adbrite, and so far it has not performed very well. The ads served are terrible and completely unrelated to the sites content.
I am thinking about signing up with Chitika because they have recently taken over the YPN which Yahoo is closing soon, so they may have more future options.
it seems YPN was really the only real viable alternative to Adsense(which I refuse to run due to the restrict TOS Adsense has).
I do like how adbrite is a bit more flexible with their publishers, and I will be looking for a way to show Adbrite to non-us traffic, and chitika to US and Canada traffic would seem to be the best route to go.
Thanks for the review, I was thinking about trying Bidvertiser but I won’t now.

Hey Ron, Also try Technorati Media, They have better ads , high pay rates (CPC and CPM). Its quite difficult to get approved by Technorati, but try your luck . Cheers
Hey, this is a really useful post on reviews of ad networks!
I just got approved by Technorati Media, but I am waiting for the code still. My site doesn’t do much traffic, so I was surprised to get the approval (it’s 2 months old, but re-launched from content from old wordpress.com site).
One problem that I have with Adsense, is that I moved from the U.S. to Canada. I’ve submitted to change the country on my account like 5 times and they never respond.
Mate, try your level best to Adsense back, Technorati Media is really good, It is 100 times more better than using Adrbite.

I invite you to read about my experience with in-text advertising. It is published at http://flipsideopinion.blogspot.com/2010/05/my-experience-with-infolinks-in-text.html
Tried almost every alternatives .. I have only used Adbrite and had a very bad experience.
I have been using Adbrite and and Chitika together for some time, (check out my name for site) and I have seen good results with Chitika for my searches. Then again, I get many search results

AdBrite is absolutely garbage. On some days, with other advertising networks we were making $20-plus a day. With AdBrite? 19 cents.
Their customer service is horrible (the people they hire seem to have the IQ of a chipmunk) and, as you said, most of the time there are no ads on your site just an AdBrite block saying “Advertise with AdBrite”.
We dropped them after a few months. A total waste of time.
