As everyone knows FIFA world cup is few months away from kick off the biggest sports extravaganza is always being such a big event and now it’s made much bigger than ever by broadcasting selected matches in 3-D yeah you heard me right. With Sony as one of FIFA’s media partner using their technology and gadgets FIFA will broadcast as much as twenty five match of the tournament which would also features some of the key matches in three dimension. ESPN is already making plans with sky network for 3-D broadcast in India but still this is a doubt that viewers in India will be lucky to watch it.
Iam sure most of the people reading this post are fans of Football, that too World Cup fanatic, and theirs no doubt about it, its going to be the most viewed event of the year. But this time, there is a good news provided by ESPN for the football fans.
ESPN will start broadcasting this summer with 3D World Cup soccer match. Yes, ESPN is going on 3D network through this summer. “We’re going to assess the viability of this as we did with all our businesses,” says Sean Batches, an ESPN executive vice president for sales and marketing. In order to watch you’ll need a more expensive 3D-capable television and new set-top box to watch 3D. ESPN US has already made plans to broadcast major league baseball, NFL and Superbowl to be broadcaster in 3-D for next year.
Wow, that sounds amazing even though I’m from South Africa. I read the other day about LG coming out with 3D TV’s, it just amazes me what we are moving towards. Technology changes and it’s so cool. Maybe do a follow up on this after watching a game or two.

Interesting news, but all the TV channels broadcast their channels in 3D. I couldn’t figure out the difference though.
