I’ve been using Skype on Ubuntu for a while. I’ve had some problems with it:

1. No snapshot feature – I have to take a full screenshot, which is a pain in the neck. The Windows version does have a screenshot function in Skype which works really well.

2. If I maximize the Skype window, sometimes I get booted out.

3. Upgrading to the latest Skype resulted in really crappy call performance, so I had to backgrade.

4. The audio levels don’t work quite right.

Overall, Skype on Linux is usable, but the Windows version is much more robust (it kills me to say that).

@Gurpreet Singh: its a nice idea dude. It was a powerful OS for scripting and coding than Windows.

@Rajesh: I suggest you can go for OpenSuse 12. Other distros does not support most of the latest hardware. If you are a newbie, Im sure you wil find OpenSuse very useful. Choose GNOME during installation. Because its more stable.

how is the Suse’s performance.. or Should i prefer Fedora 12 or Ubuntu 9.10.. which is userfreindly when compared to windows.. I am a newbie in terms of windows.. you suggestion will be helpful for me..,
