Here is the list of top 5 Image Editors that are widely used.
1. Adobe Photoshop
This is the best image editor at present, hands down. Adobe has been rocking in the field of image editing since 1980s. The set of plugins and its powerful features makes it the best choice of professionals. Similar to the Web giant Google, Adobe has acquired many companies (one notably is Macromedia) and now has a wide range of products.
2. Corel Photo Paint
Corel’s Photo Paint is a very good software comparable with Adobe Photoshop, it includes most of the features as that in Photoshop, but not many professionals prefer Corel. People like Corel PhotoPaint for its simplicity. It comparably easier to learn Corel PhotoPaint than Adobe Photoshop. So it has been the choice of many amateurs. I personally use Corel PhotoPaint in my Windows OS.
3. GIMP
GIMP is one of my favorite Image Editor. I use GIMP when I’m on Linux. Gimp has quite lot of features, that makes it the most widely used Image editor in Linux. This image editor also work on Windows and Mac OS. Photo effect is one of the striking feature in GIMP. If you need a free and lightweight image editor, you got to try GIMP.
4.Corel Paint Shop Pro
Another product which was initially a product of Jasc Softwares Ltd, but it was later purchased by Corel Corporation. The software has enhanced features for photo editing. The main advantage of the editor is its various effects that can be added to raster images. One reason why it ranks low in the list is that Paint Shop Pro is sometimes not stable.
5. Irfan View
Irfan View needs no introduction. This is one amongst the widely downloaded image editing application. The good thing about IrfanView is that it is very lightweighed and has a wide range of custom made plugins. You can even open CAD files with some plugins enabled on Irfan View.

Photo shop is the best, other 4 are also good with different level of usages.
