15 Download Managers

Here is a list of 15 download managers that work on Windows Platform. Many are only aware about popular download managers like DAP, Orbit and IDM, but there are lot more in stall that are really worth a try.

  • Download Accelerator Plus
  • Download Direct
  • Free Download Manager
  • Fresh Download
  • GetGo Download Manager
  • GigaGet
  • InstantGet
  • RapidShare plus
  • Reget Deluxe
  • ML Donkey
  • Internet Download Accelerator
  • Internet Download Manager
  • Orbit Downloader
  • Download Express
  • GO Zilla

Best in the list: Download Accelerator Plus

Reason: Has excellent performance and lot of features

Worst in the list:  ML Donkey

Reason: Freeware , opensource but whats the use, when it fails to download from lot of sites :(

My pick out of the list:  FlashGet

Reason: You get it for free :D and I must admit, it doesnt have those many features as DAP but still pretty good for normal use.

The main reason I would not use Ubuntu in the past for all my premium rapidshare downloads, was I did not have enough knowledge of the software available. In fact I am still in the dark as to what is out there, so I decided to write a post on my blog UbuntuDan and get educated at the same time. I hope this helps someone.
