Evolution Of Microsoft’s Search Engine

Search engines are become something essential for any web user these days and Their are plenty of search engines out their today. Lets rewind and go back in time where Aliweb the world first search engine which was launched in 1993 is the world oldest search engine right now then came Altavista in 1995 followed by Ask Jeeves in 96 but Google stand as the best among the lot  but this dosen’t stop Microsoft to try out new stuff to surpass their rivals.

After the launch Google “the search engine” in 1997 .Google quickly established they dominance among the rest. then  Microsoft released their very own search engine “MSN search” as a rival product for Google in 1999 but MSN search always came  second best to Google in many ways , After a while Microsoft again  worked hard made couple of changes to its engine and re-launched their search engine giving a new title “Windows Live search” which was fancy and also had the capabilities to search the web for news,images and other bunch of stuff about the related keywords and also had a access to Encarta .It  did become one of the most successful search engines of Microsoft which turned out to be good but still it wasn’t good enough to overcome Google search.

Finally early this year Microsoft announced yet another change to their so called search engine and launched it in the name of “bing”  (what kinda name is that ) which will replace “Windows Live search” this was actually called as a “Decision Engine” by the developers (don’t know why ).bing is up and running for few months now and it is still in its beta version.Recently i did come across the new “Decision Engine” from Microsoft and i find it to be very ordinary.no offence but Microsoft should have done a better job than this they do had Yahoo!’s core search technologies to help them with this. I love to hear what other users think about the new bing.
